Hey everyone! Back with another cartoon drawing tutorial. This time I'll show you how to draw Rick Sanchez from Rick and Morty. Rick and Morty is one of my favorite shows on air, and Rick is definitely the best character of the bunch. So, grab a pencil and let's learn how to draw Rick Sanchez!

How To Draw Rick Sanchez Step 1

Step 1

The first step to drawing Rick is to draw a large oval shape for his head, with two lines dividing the oval in half vertically and horizontally.

Step 2

Next, draw two large circles for Rick's eyes, and a small "U" shape on the center line for Rick's nose.

Draw a small pupil in each of Rick's eyes, with one solid eyebrow above both of his eyes.

To finish Rick's facial features, draw a simple curve for his smile, and a "C" shaped smile line on each end of his mouth. Also, draw an ear on each side of Rick's face below his eyes.

Next, draw Rick's trademark spiky hair surrounding his head. As you can see in the image, the spikes of his hair are larger toward the top of his head, and get smaller toward the bottom of Rick's head.

Draw a large oval shape below Rick's head and a thin neck between his head and body.

Next, draw Rick's long, thin arms. As you can see in the image, we are going to be drawing one of Rick's arms upward slightly, showing that he is holding his portal gun.

Draw a small oval shape at the end of Rick's arm which will serve as an outline for his hand.

Next, draw Rick's square shaped portal gun, with the handle resting in the center of his hand.

Following the outline of Rick's hands, draw his five fingers wrapping around the handle of his portal gun.

To finish Rick's outfit, draw the lapels of his lab coat as shown in the image.

Finally, give Rick a little color– teal for his shirt, and a light blue for his hair and eyebrow. And Rick Sanchez is all done!
